My first VT meeting. Kelly and I met with Monica (loira). She picked us up in Belem and took us shopping. She also gave us a nice informative tour on the way :-)

MarvintheMartian was visiting San Francisco, and Kelly and I happened to be there at the same time. Geisha_Girl and girl_ks were nice enough to roll out the red carpet for us. We met at noon in Union Square and walked to Chinatown for a dim sum lunch.

I've been a VT member since 2001, and lived just outside NYC for most of my life, but I'd never been to a NYC VT meeting. That changed when I joined some of the NY crew for dinner at Layla's.

I had just returned from a vacation in California, and the city was still buzzing about the big blackout from the previous weekend (which I fortunately missed).

I was meeting 8 people at once so of course I made a cheat sheet with everyone's name and VT handle.

Wow, a VT meeting in suburban New Jersey! When I heard that Tom and Gonnie (Tompt) were going to be just a couple of miles from my home, I made sure to be there to welcome them to NJ. We met for an early breakfast on a drizzly Saturday morning. We all had busy schedules for later, but unlimited coffee and lively conversation at the International House of Pancakes was a great way to start the day!

On the day after Christmas, I met with Julie (Travelmad478) and Lucille (former VTer Black_I_Purl) at the Rodeo Bar on East 27th Street in Manhattan. Lucille had her adorable daughter Sarah in tow, who told us about the great presents Santa Claus brought for her. But she was sad to inform us that her father did not get the one present he was hoping for - a spaceship. Now there's a traveller! Maybe next year.
