View from the Lake on the mountains and the desert

The Chaixa Lake is located in the middle-east of the Salar of Atacama (supposed to be the most arid desert in the world). The Salar in itself is full of bricks of salt... And when the sun goes slowly down the hills, the moutains on the other side turn red and the bricks of salt... orange, of course !!!

The Chaxa lake itself - La lagune en elle-meme

Small, not very deep, not very blue, but it's the well where the birds come to quench their thirst... You will say : why there is water in the supposed-to-be most arid desert in the world ? I will answer : *** off... !

Flamingo road

Among these birds... flamingos !!!

Parmi ces oiseaux... des flamants !! Ca vous coupe les pattes, hein ?

Stef reporter and the amazing binocular

But what hangs on the neck of our brave reporter ??? A binocular kindly lent by the owner of our hostal... Very useful to look at the flamingos far in the distance...

Stef reporter, sunshine of my life...
