ACTING IN OSCAR WINNING MOVIES

by ROCKARIA - last update: Jul 21, 2005

GLADIATOR

As the empress bodyguard
Some of the movies i took part were OSCAR winning films such as GLADIATOR starring Russel Crowe and TROY starring Brat pitt .Both of them are spectacular films to watch.
I am first right watching over Connie !

GLADIATOR : The Pretorian bodyguard

It was a fantastic working with stars such as Connie Nielson. She had respect for the film extras around her which made the filming more pleasurable to make.
She even gave me her autograph.....on my business card!
Now where have the shoe polisher gone !

GLADIATOR : THE Pretorian Soldier

pheeeeeew.....too much clothing in those days.....
Russel Crowe face to face with a real Tiger

GLADIATOR : The Arena

Here one can see Russel Crowe Wrestling with the wild tiger and also the location of the camera and crew. One also have to admire the courage of the film crew in this situation......but later someone confirmed that the tiger was as tame as a big lovable kitten .....well i was'int that sure!.........here kity kity...
o.k...o.k....you guessed...false wig & beard

TROY : Trojan Soldier

Believe me.....its not easy to work 12 hours a day shooting in a film ( well not all the time!) I had to grow my own beard but i shaved it just before the filming started and i was provided with wig and a beard (hope it was a new one!)
TROY would be a great success ...(watch out for me....beside Brad Pitt!!)
Getting a wig fitting before shooting

TROY : Wardrobe & make up

Day after day of filming one get the feel of the routine and what is expected from everybody. First you get the costume then go to fitting (wig, beard, jewellery or other body parts.....then to make up department with all the nice ladies ready with a brownish makeup spounge ready to make us look tanned! ( well it was more like a mud bath as the soldiers in those days hardly had any showers)
All cocked up in the middle!

TROY : The Palace Scene

Oh.......In this palace scene we had great fun......drunken Trojan Soldiers "make merry" with the palace maidens and free flow of wine and music...for once i did not mind the film scene retakes!
Leading greek troops on brown horse

BYRON

This film was a BBC production and i had a number of good parts in it with some good close ups.
Here i am on horseback leading an army of greek troops behind BYRON.
