| Verazzano Bridge from New York Harbor |
Verazzano Bridge The Verazzano Bridge connects Brooklyn with Staten Island. It is the tallest bridge out of all the bridges in New York City. It can be seen from miles. Here is a picture I took from New York Harbor. |
Brooklyn Bridge The Brooklyn Bridge is the first of three bridges that connect Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn. It is the most well known bridge in New York City. |
Manhattan Bridge The second bridge on the East River is the Manhattan Bridge. Like the Brooklyn Bridge, it connects Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn. |
Williamsburg Bridge The Williamsburg Bridge is the third bridge that crosses the East River. It is another bridge that crosses from Lower Manhattan to Brooklyn. This is the bridge that is always under construction. The NYC Subway also crosses this bridge. |
59th Street Bridge The 59th Street Bridge connects Midtown Manhattan with Astoria section of Queens. |
Tri-Borough Bridge The Tri-Borough Bridge is actually a series of three bridges that cross the Harlem and East River. Two of the bridges connect the Bronx & Manhattan with Randall's Island. The main span that crosses the East River connects Randall's Island with Queens. Here is a picture of the main span across the East River. |
| Alexander Hamilton Bridge (I-95) |
Harlem River Bridges The Harlem River has the most bridges spanning its waters. It is becasue the Harlem River is shortest in length. There are many small draw bridges that cross the Harlem River. Pictured here is the I-95 (Cross Bronx Expressway) bridge across the Harlem River. The bridge is a good 100 feet above the water. |
George Washington Bridge The George Washington Bridge is the most travelled bridge in the New York City area. It connects Fort Lee, New Jersey with the Upper part of Manhattan. It carries I-95 and US 1&9. |
