Snoopy was our first dog. She was born in June 1988 and died on April 28, 2003. She almost got 15 years old. She was a 'Schipperke', this is a Belgian breed that you don't see very much. In former days, they were used on canal boats for catching rats and mice because they are small and very quick hence the name 'Schipperke', meaning 'little skipper'.
They can be very sweet, but only when being alone without other dogs, because adding a second dog, they tend to become very bossy. But just as kids, you love all your dogs, so we loved this one too.
She is quite famous here on VT, already met some VT'ers in real life. Steventilly and filipdebont in 'Knokke-Heist' and Pollon at my home in 'Antwerp'. Several pics were taken of her.

Dachshund

My favorite dog was Pruts, a dachshund. She was born in July 1989 and died after illness on November 12, 2001. I still miss her the most. She was so sweet but was always bullied by Snoopy. I guess, that's why, I gave more attention to her.

Kasia, our greyhound, was added to the family in January 1999. We were thinking of taking a new dog in case one of the two oldies would die and after reading an article in the newspaper about maltreatment of greyhounds in Spain, we decided to adopt a Spanish Greyhound, safed by a Belgian organization.
She came to us at the age of 4. And, although still very frightened of strange people and strange, hard noises, she was very sweet and showed all her love and gratitude to us. She loved to run and just to be around us. She passed away on October 22, 2008 due to cancer.

Max - Feb 27, 2004

After Snoopy died, Kasia became very lonely and we decided to take a new dog. I wanted no puppy because of lack of time, so we decided to go to an animal shelter and we found Max a mix of a beagle and a dachshund. He was born in Hungary and came to Belgium with his former owners. 3 years old, he has joined us since May 21, 2003. He felt at home right away.

Cockatiel

Some years ago, my mother found him flying around aimlessly in her horse stable, it seemed that he was lost, so we took care of him. Chico is a cockatiel, a smaller member of the parrot family. He likes to talk and whistle a lot, sometimes too much and too loud :-). He likes to be around us and whenever he comes out of his cage, he always wants to sit on my shoulder or sit in front of the mirrow talking to his friend.

Zora is our latest addition. After Kasia's death it was sure we wanted a greyhound again. So we filled in the papers to adopt another poor and abused Spanish greyhound. After a month on November 22, 2008, she joined us at the age of 2. She is very sweet and has adapted quickly to her new royal life.
