As you can see, there's a certain amount of renovation going on.

It's only about an hour away from Frankfurt and easily accessible on the train.

Just go to the Frankfurt Hauptbanhof -- the main train station and get the tickets from the ticket counter.

Trains run to Heidelberg almost every hour.
The great thing about the German train system is that it's always very accurate and efficient.

Look out for the train schedules printed out on pocket-sized sheets and grab those places that you plan on making day trips to.
They're a great help in showing you the times taken to reach the destination as well as stops along the way! :)

I think our tickets cost about 21 euro each for a return ticket. Not cheap!
