"A jeep safari - 1" Chobe National Park Travelogue by Alain_Smeets

Chobe National Park Travel Guide: 102 reviews and 371 photos

The next morning we went to an optional morning drive at 6:00 am. An early wake. But because we missed the evening drive, we talked to Jacques to make this a Temba drive. This drive is off course in an safari vehicle, you know such a 4x4 drive with an sail on top.

We started before our breakfast and the guide was already waiting for us very inpatient, because he didn’t like to wait.

We saw a lot of animals, elephants, kudu, impala, fish-eagle, ......... and also a lion. The first what we noticed are some impala’s at a small stream and some birds.

In the beginning of the trip we also ended up in a big group of elephants. Big animals are those. They just walk around the jeeps and we almost could touch them. That’s a strange experience for us to see these animals so close to use without any bars between us.

And for the lady’s I’ll tell you later something more because I didn’t knew this one now. We saw that when we were on our boat trip. So if you want to know, you shall have to check out those travelogues too.

Then we saw something laying in the bushes, 3 bodies brown of color. If the guide didn’t told us, we couldn’t recognize lions in it. During the drive back we saw then a big lion lying in the shade.

The story continues on the next travelogue A jeep safari - 2

Alain, a great page on Chobe! It sounds like you had a great time on both the land and water parts of your excursions! Will you pay for my beers too if I come with you?
