Travel Tips

The first time i did some *real* travel (it doesn't count the two or three times i had gone to Spain) was in May 2000. At that time i was in the last year of my course and was selected to finish the studies in Namur, Belgium. I applied the two previous years but the institution didn't do any selection at all. As i really didn't like the idea of flying i decide to hitchhike to Namur... My mother hated the idea but everything went ok. I went by truck, the travel took 2 days and a half and i met lot's of *interesting* people. I was in Namur for three months and during that period i visited Amsterdam.

When i returned from Belgium i decided i would have to travel again. Somewhere. Somehow.
In May 2002 i decided to go on Inter rail alone (none of my friends was courageous enough to go with me [bastards!]). I went to Benelux and it was super!!!

In October 2002 a friend and i decided to travel together. My first choice was Italy but, as he was really scared and (as far as he said) couldn't afford that travel, we decided to cross Spain to Barcelona and back to Lisboa. The bastard gave up in the morning of the departure at 08h! He was scared!!! I decided to go alone and didn't talk to him again (bastard!).

In June 2003 i went to Scandinavia (alone again) and it was SUPER!
I met lot's of nice and very interesting people.

Slovenia and Croatia

In August 2003 I decided to try to travel with other people.
Guida, a very close friend, had this idea one year before. She invited me and Lena (another close friend) to go, by car, to Slovenia and Croatia. Guida’s sister (with her boyfriend) and Guida’s boyfriend brother would go too.
I had the idea of renting a van. They wanted to take theirs VW Polo (insane!).
We took a nice Mercedes Vito.

Everything would be very nice if there weren’t people who think they rule other people lives... People who I won’t travel again with. People I hope I don’t have to see again... I'm talking about Guida's sister.

Anyway I really enjoyed Slovenia and Croatia. Mainly Slovenia. People are really nice and friendly. I, definitely, have to go back one day.
