Fort Point Park View

Golden Gate

I am just fascinated with bridges. So the Golden Gate was on my list of must see places. I took a taxi and asked him to take me to the place where the best vantage point for the Golden Gate was. He took me to Fort Point Park.
On the Golden Gate

Onto the Bridge

At this point, I discovered that you can go onto the bridge as a pedestrian. Here is the view of the bridge from on the bridge.
Foggy Spans of the Golden Gate

Fog

The fog never lifted off the bridge the day I was there. It is still a cool site.
Middle of Golden Gate Bridge
Here is what the bridge looks like from the opposite direction.
Ship in San Francisco Bay

Ships

All ships that enter the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco Bay must pass the Golden Gate Bridge. If you love watcing ships, the Golden Gate Bridge and the adjacent Fort Point Park is a great vantage point.

Viewing the Bay

The view of the Bay is great from the bridge. Here is a view of Marin County from the bridge.

Lots of information especially for those of us who have not been there. You make us want to go, and that's good. Thanks.

Great job on the tips. Looks like you hit all of the major tourist attractions. Next time you come, try visiting some of the neighborhoods like Noe Valley and the Mission district as well as the surrounding towns. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!
