A short walk towards the suspension bridge

The waves break on the rocks

We stopped around noon in Tsitsikamma Park. It stopped raining and we put on our bold boots and went for a walk to the mounding of the Storm River. But before we head off, we had a look to the waves who were hitting the rocks in front of the cliffs.
The trail starts just behind the restaurant and the first thing you see is a small waterfall coming down from the rocks. And from there on the track starts. Most of it is on a wooden log floor.

We walked between the different trees and now and then we could see the endpoint of our track, the suspension bridge across the Storm River, the same river that we already followed before the noon through the garden route.
And there is the hanging bridge across the Storm River. We see the waves of the ocean pounding on the rocks battling with the water coming from the inland following the Storm River.

And that is an impressive sight, we stood there several minutes on the bridge and on the other side, just to see the forces of nature playing with each other.
Now I know why they call this river “Storm River” and when you stand there and it’s rainy and windy weather you know also where the name comes from.

It started to rain slightly and luckily we had our raincoats with us. The walking path was made of wooden logs and it was very easy to walk on. Before we came back in the restaurant, it soaked water out of the sky. But luckily for us it was the last few hundred meters, so we were still dry when we ended up in the restaurant.

I enjoyed that walk to the bridge and over the bridge. It was a beautiful day when we went in May 2004 so the water looked much different from your beautiful picture. Thanks Diane
