In my language we have a saying "You have not discovered America!", useful for talking with people who say things that are commonly known, being proud of their own originality.
What I want to say is that New York is a place, where everything is mixtured: races, cultures, religions, societes.
Do I discover anything? Maybe not America, but probably my own face in its mirror.
