I know it is wrong to project complex human emotions on animals ,
but sometimes I feel there is no escape.
I just wonder if they are aware of their beauty...
I think they are since it is parth of their breeding strategy. |

| | How can this happen? This is a male orangutan I saw in
the zoo in Bandung , Indonesia.
It hurts me to see him like this.
Probably he is a product of illegal trade...
He became too big at the home of
people who kept him as a pet
and he was dropped in the zoo.
Other possibilities : born there , but
oops he is a male , one male in a group...
or he was used in a show circus.
Anyway - its strange that people have fun
watching him.

| | Bruni and the cheetah This is Bruni , a friend of mine;
She was already in her seventies when
this picture was taken.
Sometimes in life you have too choose
, take the picture and run ,
or save a friend from the predator.

| | Tuan This is Tuan , the male orangutan at the antwerp zoo.
He was born in Keulen and not accepted by his parents.
So he got raised by the directors family
at home. (nowadays most rejected little
ones go to stuttgart , kindergarden , to learn
social skills )He now lives with Astrid
in Antwerp zoo. Isn't he amazing.
We are sort of silent friends.
I visit him a few times a week and
then he comes over and we sit and watch eachother.
His eyes tell a lot. Take some time to notice him.
I know Orangs aren't the most attractive animals.
They don't make as much noice as chimps
and they don't move to much... but. |

to take the picture u want.

with carrots and stuff like that...
