Impressions of a Mayan World

Here are just some impressions I had of this glorious Mayan city.
Cavernous hall underneath El Palacio

Hallway on top of El Palacio
Nookes and crannies: These cubby holes are where the Mayans are to have keep significant statues and other important materials.
This is a picture of a hole that a post can be inserted into. The reason is to make scaffolding for construction purposes. I was quite amazed at how when you enter into a room with large windows, it was quite cooler (but still sweating!)
It just amazes me with: Here is this large city in the middle of the jungle. I wonder what it looked like in it's heyday???
