Tiananmen Square is remembered for the bloody revolt some years back when students took to the streets to protest for democracy.

It looks pretty peaceful here!

This is Jessie and me (on the right) along Shanghai Bund.

If Beijing is about history, then Shanghai will be all about developments.

Everytime I visit the Bund in Shanghai, I cannot help imagining what it was like in the 1930s.... Beautiful women in silk qipaos (traditional chinese dress) and men dressed swanked suits complete with bow ties and fedoras.

Verdant rice fields in Xiangjiajie.

Xiangjiajie is a tiny mountain town in Hunan Province. And is famous for a crystal clear lake in the mountain (where Mao Zedong used to vacation and swim!), as well as the Yellow Dragon Cave.

This picture was taken at a park in Fujian province. I don't recall the name (I've been to so many temples, I lose count!).

In it you can see the Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin.

Guilin in the south is famous for its classical Chinese landscape which has been depicted many times over centuries.

Best way to see all the splendour of the limestone "hairpin" hills is to cruise down the Lijiang river.
