My wife and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon. This was the first time I had ever flown on an airplane. We spent 8 days in Oahu and 7 days in Kauai. Before we went to Hawaii, I did hours of research into stuff to do, which really enhanced our trip. Our entire trip cost around $3,500!!! And that includes everything. I did that math down to a science. If I bought a coke from a vending machine, I put it down on paper. We saved lots of money by buying the Hawaii edition of the Entertainment Book. The picture above was taken at our Penthouse suite on Oahu. We were lucky to get this suite, because they had given our room to someone else and the moment we were checking in, the people in the penthouse were checking out. |

| | "Haiku Stairs" or "The Stairway to Heaven" This was by far the greatest thing my wife and I did on our honeymoon. I had found out about these stairs from doing an online research and stumbled across someone's web site which told everything about the stairs. I immediately fell in love with the hike and made it a goal to go out of my way to conquer these stairs. My wife and I weren't going to go at first, because it was our last day on Oahu and we never got around to doing it, but I called the airline company and our hotel in Kauai, which they were all able to change our schedule one day ahead, which made it possible for us to take this hike. I won't bore you with the history of the stairs, but there are 4,000 steps, which takes you practically to the top of the peak of this mountain. It was so exciting. Many of the railings of the stairs were rusted over the years by rain that you had to watch where you grabbed. Other railings were as think as your finger. Some were even missing. Many times there were sections which went over a ridge and on both sides was the drop to the bottom. The Haiku Stairs was quite the adventure. Since we had gone, repairs have been made to the entire stairs, but it is still closed pending a lawsuit. To find out more about the stairs into the history and pictures, visit the link below:

sarakohen Wed Mar 8, 2006 10:08 UTC hey I am glad I found more Christians on VT! Greetings from Bulgaria! | ferdnbean Thu May 5, 2005 20:11 UTC Nice page and photos. Christlike can be translated to Christian, so it is not so much a bold statement as it is a statement of your faith. From one Christian to another...may He Bless you in you and your wife's travels in this world and beyond. Wayne | RuthLuvsPaul Tue Aug 26, 2003 05:01 UTC Had to check out someone's page who calls himself Christlike.....bold claim!
