smearing our window | leaving at least some mark |
These photos has been taken during the last day of the Songkran festival, 2,5 hours driving from Bangkok, in the town beside the sea from which we supposed to take a bout to Koh Samed island. we were stuck in the traffic for quite a long time - action in full swing of the final stage of festival: roads packed with slowly moving mini trucks with excited youth veside huge water containers, pouring water on everything around, challenging other trucks... we couldn't dare even to open windows, what to speak - walk around. in fact we almost gave up a hope to reach Koh Samed that day !!! yet we managed to bear small "casualties" only: lots of paste smeared on our car, not mentioning amounts of water washing the paste away almost instantly. at least we remained dry, observing the craziness of action outside ! |
| | no mercy even for police! even guys in uniform had no excuse! |
one of a festival characters this guy is well equiped and ... somehow seems to be not at all dangerous, rather friendly and definetely feels "high"!
| | farangs on the truck "farangs" (foreigners) are also actively participating ! |
time when nobody mind to be stuck in traffic ! see what I meant by traffic jam?
| | confrontation on trucks typical exchange of water throwing between two rivaling teams... |
"counterstrike" there is a very little chance to smear the paste on the face of pretty girl without getting cooling the passion mugfull of water from her team-mates...
| | sudden shower downpour "You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout (fro getting wet) - I'm telling you why: Songkran is coming to town!!!!!"
if you don' watch out for approaching car, engaged in the side action, this can be your "final destination" !!! |
