The sun sets on Corporate America

by mrdarius - last update: Apr 17, 2003

sunset in N. Quincy, MA
I thought this would be pretty funny. I've been working crazy overtime with the 'Code Orange' in effect, so most of my overtime has come between 3pm and 7am. This means I get to see the sun set and then rise.

The funny part is that I've seen some spectacular colors and displays of nature's beauty set in lifeless, disgusting man-made corporate wasteland settings.
sunset at mall on Long Island
This one is from over a mall parking lot on Long Island. I just wanted to whip out a beach chair and pop open a few Coronas right there...grease-spot soaked asphalt and all.
My favorite part about all these photos is that they're great shots of sunsets, but they're all ruined by lamp posts or a vast parking lot. Makes me appreciate visiting secluded beaches with the same sunsets but no electric wire obstructions.

sunset reflected behind reserved parking space
Reserved parking only for the president. I wonder if the president had a chance to notice the gorgeous sunset...
Tops of parking garages are great places to watch sunrises, sunsets, and the moon. Just watch for pesky security guards!!

sunset view from cubicle space
If you get to work early enough (some people actually show up at 5am) or stay late enough, you get to see this gorgeous view from your cubicle! Imagine!
While watching this sunset, remember that you have to be told by a machine when you can and cannot walk across the street.

moon vs. streelight
Here, the moon and a streetlight compete for superiority in the night sky.
