Children of the World, my favorite travel photos

by pchamlis - last update: Apr 7, 2003

Tambopata Rainforest, Peru

Three-year old farmgirl, Tambopata, Peru
This little three year old captured my eye and lens on a visit to a local farm. She followed us throughout our visit, and especially enjoyed seeing herself on our video camera screen.
Venice....he's not much bigger than the birds!

Venetian bird lover

This little guy had made a morning of running around and spooking pigeons at Venice's St. Marks Square.

Young citizens of Calderone

This photo was taken in the small Ecuadoran town of Calderon. Of particular interest is the wide variety of ethnic backgrounds exhibited in this simple photo of some local kids. In many ways, this photo is a juvenile snapshot of Ecuador's population as a whole.

Evening meal for feathered friends in Luzern

Another young bird lover, this time in Switzerland

In Luzern, Switzerland, we found this little girl and her friends feeding the pigeons near the old bridge.

Getting her goat

This little Swiss girl has just finished a close, personal discussion with some goats and lambs at a cattle auction in the rural town of Flawil, near Appenzell.

Playing "solitaire" in Ecuador

Playing solitaire in Ecuador

This child was sitting all alone, with a cherished toy, in a little village near Ibarra, Ecuador. As a parent, I had to admire his ability to amuse himself. However, it was all that I could do to simply take this picture and not stop to play with him for a few minutes.

A little guy in the "Land of Lincoln"

This little guy was enjoying a visit to the Abraham Lincoln family farm site near Springfield, Illinois.
A wave from the "Land of Lincoln"
School girls in Otavalo, Ecuador

School bells are ringing in Otavalo

These nattily-clad yound ladies were on their way to school in Otavalo, Ecuador. There is great emphasis on each school's official uniform, and the colors are worn with pride by the students.

hey Pete - great pages - you guys are just a year or so ahead of us - nothing better than having kids that have their feet on the ground and will hang out with their parents - as long as we go on great trips - all the best - Tim
