Me, Zandra and André went on a ice grotto tour. We had to go to the glacier by snowmobile.

When we got there we had to dig our way in. Henrik is the one who's digging. He was our guide.

It was really warm (compared to the outside) and nice inside, but it was pretty slippery.

Henrik

Henrik is telling us about the glacier and what makes it possible for us to go inside. He talks about what you can "read" from the wall inside the glacier. Best of all...he's giving us something warm to drink and cookies!!!

After a couple of very fun and educating hours inside the glacier it was time for us to go back home. We got on our snowmobiles and headed for Longyearbyen.....

Happy Birthday! I had the pleasure of visiting Longyearbyen about 10 years ago, using Braathens airmiles. Great restaurant just outside town, can't remember the name.

The scenary is fantastic!! Of course, its probably a bit difficult to grow a garden there, I presume.
