The Flight So, I had to get up around 6am for an early morning flight to Toronto.. unfortunately, my brain does not appear to work well at that time, and I left my USB cable behind for my digital camera.. So, I can't add any pictures right now, although I've been taking some good ones.. The flight left Vancouver at 9am (West Jet), and besides for the first 20 minutes or so, was pretty smooth. I always hate waking up on the morning of a flight, looking outside, and seeing it's overcast.. as someone who doesn't really like to fly, overcast skies mean turbulence on ascent, so I always hope for sunny skies in the morning! I took a really neat picture of the sun streaming through the clouds at around 40,000 feet.. That'll be here soon. |
| A shot of downtown Toronto from the plane |
Pearson I haven't been to Toronto in around 1.5 years, but luckily everything was still familiar when we landed around 4:30pm EST. We circled around and hit Pearson from the east, so I got some more really good pictures of the CN Tower and Lake Ontario from the Air.. So, at this point I'm a little dehydrated and severely hungry (all I've eaten so far today was a bagel, and a coffee), so I set out on a quest for food..Unfortunately for me, West jet flies into Pearson's Welfare Terminal, so all I really could do was pick up my luggage and try to get downtown.. |
Toronto At around 5:15pm, I managed to board a Downtown 'Express' bus.. note the quotes around express: this took me nearly 1:45 minutes to get to my final destination downtown.. I'm stil very hungry =) Here's a shot of downtown at night.. |

Old Friends So, the first person I visited while in TO was my old high-school friend Landy.. We see each other around once every two years these days (that's what happens after highschool I guess), but we always try to make time when we're in each other's area! We went down to the Duke of York pub near U of T, where I proceeded to make up for the 1500 or so calories I was missing today! |
| Downtown, from King's College Circle at UofT |
University of Toronto Well, I spent most of the morning/afternoon walking around the University of Toronto .. it's a very huge school, with around 60,000 students.. It's right smack in the middle of downtown, so there's lots to do.. |
| Where they do the graduate ceremonies I think.. |
UofT - 2 I got to see most of the campus, even though it was so huge.. Here's another shot of some of the neat architecture around campus... |

Paul2001 Sat Feb 28, 2004 20:37 UTC It helps to be shown all the cool spots in Toronto by somebody who knows the city. Good page. | MissAntarctica2002 Mon Feb 9, 2004 19:21 UTC Nice picture of Convocation Hall and the CN Tower. Funny, I don't remember them being on that much of an incline. | Renee44 Sun May 4, 2003 11:16 UTC O yes I remember the glass floor! Now u make me want to go back again! ;) | RobDavis Tue Apr 29, 2003 02:24 UTC Nice tips, really liked the T'logs... I'm not proud to say I boo'ed & heckled the BNLs back when they were playing at UWO in 1987. |
