Hector and Carol came to visit us in June 2002. To come to Svalbard they first took a train from Stockholm to Narvik, from Narvik they took a bus to Tromsø and then they went by plane to Longyearbyen. That is probably one of the cheapest ways to get here if your planning on coming here from Stockholm.

Me, Hector and Carol

This is us on our way to the Tempelfjord.
It was a long and cold trip by boat but it was really fun. On our way there we saw a lot of different kinds of birds.
The trip took about 5 hours, and I think Hector recorded it nonstop with his videocamera. Carol took about 5 rolls of film with her photocamera.

Happy Birthday! I had the pleasure of visiting Longyearbyen about 10 years ago, using Braathens airmiles. Great restaurant just outside town, can't remember the name.

The scenary is fantastic!! Of course, its probably a bit difficult to grow a garden there, I presume.
