All Aboard!

We were fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time, and secured super discount tickets for the Atlantis Submarine Tour in Waikiki (departs from the Hilton Hawaiian Village pier) . The first two booked tours in the morning are for Japanese tourists with Japanese tour guide, but if you speak English, you can listen to a pre-recorded tour. * TIP * ... wear fluorescent colors ... down under it'll look like someone turned on a black light.

Who's more frightened, us or them?

Down ... down ... down ...

We took a boat out to the subport, then once in the sub, we were taken a ways off and then descended more than 100 feet under. Many of the "treasures" you see at the bottom of the sea were "placed" there for tourism, but it's still very neat to see. It was a treat to see scuba divers looking in at us looking out at them! Very friendly they were!

Reef like structures for protection

These were placed under sea in hopes that the sea creatures would take to it like a natural reef ... mission accomplished.
Fish beyond Waikiki

One fish, two fish, black fish, blue fish!

The fish we saw were incredible! I didn't realize there were so many different kinds of fish out in the ocean! I guess it's true then, when they say there's plenty more fish out in the sea!

Honu ... Hawaiian for Sea Turtle

We also saw several Honu (Hawaiian name for sea turtle) ... it's usually quite easy to get a photograph of these guys. The first time we went, we saw a shark resting on the ocean floor, but by the time the sub turned around, it was gone.

Shark

SHARK ! !

The most disturbing thing about when a shark is spotted from the sub is that everyone moves to one side of the sub to see it ! ! DONT ROCK THE BOAT ... the Captains are always good about turning the sub around so that riders from both sides of the sub have an opportunity to see.
