| The local "wild" ducks became a part of the family |
| | The ducks 2008 Update: In our suburb there are 3 ponds and some ditches. For the fourth year in a row this duck family picked a location in front of our house below the kitchen window to build their nest. It's on a small piece of dirt behind a stand with plants and flowers. From the first year on we helped by creating a small pond in the adjacent garden. Feeding is a part of the daily business, from the day of the first egg till the end of the 26 days of breeding time. The new ducklings will only be one day around the house, because the whole family moves to the flock of other ducks in the big pond. |

Our peanut feeder has the full attention of many birds as well as the squirrel. |
