The Hengelo Train Station |
|  | The connection to Amsterdam The Hengelo Train Station is the startpoint of this Hengelo city exploration. Here the train to Rotterdam just leaves. The building to the right is the tax office. |
| | Historic building The roof of the train station is a monument. It dates from the early 1900's. To the right is a Sintax train riding on the local line to Almelo - Nijverdal - Zwolle. |
| | The station square At side of the bus station this big round building hits the eye. It's the local theatre called Rabobank Theater. |
| | Rail Road art At both sides of the train station tunnels are made under the railroad tracks connecting the North and South side of the city. This piece of art by Martin Stol is called "Wederopbouw" and is placed on top of the Europa tunnel. Behind is the entrance to the new De Brink shopping area. |
| | Station city views The Lambertus churchtower seen from the South along the Brinkstraat. |
| | Details Next to the Scapino shop this carved stone is part of the wall. There is another one with the banner of the city of Amsterdam. It took a long time to find out why this stone was there, but as it turned out it was the office of the former Amsterdam-Rotterdam Bank (now known as AMRO). |
