The following poem was written by a public radio journalist from here... he's the best journalist we've ever had: Sergio Savoia. He never compromised, never kissed anyone's feet, or a**s, and always spoke his mind. Censorship does exist, unfortunately, and it's everywhere, so they found a pretext to sack him. His words now still live on... check www.ildiavolo.com if you understand Italian. This English translation is mine, and I apologise to Sergio for my imperfections. |
DON'T LET US GET USED TO IT Above all don’t let us get used to it, don’t let us start to find normal the briefings' updates, the Pentagon neo-language, the analysts’ jargon
Don’t let us start To talk about collateral damages, to get drunk on technical data of Cruise and Tomcat. Don’t let us ever find out Anything nice or pleasant about this war
Don’t let us ever forget That where missiles hit There are bodies who break into pieces More orphans, more widows More fathers without children More husbands without wives
Be it right or wrong Don’t let us forget That this is a war. Ugly, horrendous, disgusting Like wars always are |

Please know that many people in the U.S. feel the same way and we are working to make our country's role more possitive. Sorry we are dragging everyone with us. Keep the faith for peace! | MM212 Thu Sep 10, 2009 19:27 UTC Hi - all is well. Very hot, but I'm used to it by now. Ciao, Momo. |
