March 5. 2003 was the last day of Carnival all around the world, so alike in Brazil and Rio de Janeiro too.
As the parade of the samba schools is a competition between the schools, at this day happened the so cold "apuracao" to find out which of them is the champion of this year.

And the champion of samba schools in 2003 is : BEIJA FLOR

Congratulations to Beija Flor...even if I voted for MANGUEIRA! ;-)
Beija Flor and Mangueira did both a great job on the parade, with huge cars, beautiful women and "muito samba no pe"! But I thought that Salgueiro would win, 'cause they had the best samba of the year!

Academicos de Santa Cruz, the last one in the competition of the special group (Grupo Especial) will parade next Carnival 2004 in the A-group of samba schools (on Saturday) and Sao Clemente (winner of the A-group in 2003) will parade in 2004 in the special samba group.
