POINT PELEE NATIONAL PARK | The "Gang" at Point Pelee |
January 1971. Point Pelee National Park, most southern part of Canada.
On a beautiful winter day, six friends had an outing to Point Pelee. We all had a riot together. We were all acting silly and doing fun things in the ice.
This is a fun photo, as it shows how zany we dressed. Check out Fritz, Hans' first friend in Canada. He is far right, with the foo-man-choo mustache and the bell bottom jeans--cool or what!
Hans had his red checked Scottie cap that he wore everywhere and even slept with it. It was part of his personality. |

|  | Hans Wining & Dining Lori The owner of "Mario's", a Dutchman, had 2,000 tulips flown in from Holland and also featured an Indonesian Rice Table, which is a typically Dutch specialty. Hans thought he would impress Lori by asking her to join him for dinner there. It was our first dinner date. |

This is a special place for us as Hans proposed to Lori here. It was the next best thing to being in Holland. |
OTTAWA ONTARIO July 21, 1971. Rideau River Provincial Park, Ottawa Ontario. Hans and Lori camped here for two nights. Check out the yellow shirt and yellow striped pants, Hans is wearing.
I remember being close to the river--so romantic. Notice the wine bottle cooling in the old kettle.

| | BOWLING HALLOWEEN PARTY October 20, 1971. All the "Bowling Gang" got together to have a Halloween Party. Hans dressed as a dapper sea captain and Lori was a cute Hobo.
Our "Singles Bowling League" gang often got together and many couples met and married. Hans and Lori were the first couple to get married. |
