I saw this beautiful ship pass by!

The island is rocky along its coastline but inland there is a very fine village, beauties of small houses and the most wonderful gardens with of course lots of Hortensias because:
L' HORTENSIA GAGNE TOUTE LA BRETAGNE!!! and that is true!

There is also a lighthouse on a high plateau on the other end of the island, opposite the landing place where the ferry that took you there docks.

I even bought some postcards there and the little hamlet had everything you could long for.

I had a fine lunch in the garden of a nice little restaurant; actually it was as if my mother was bringing me my lunch on a tray in the garden!!

This island is a great place to walk and walk....wear good shoes.....

Here you see a piece of beach on the north side of the ILE DE BREHAT and the LIGHTHOUSE DU PAON (THE PEACOCK).

It will take you about an hour of pleasant walking to reach this "PEACOCK" ......so if you plan to do this take an early ferry! to be able to make the most of it!

This island is surrounded by a multitude of little islands all getting rose/pink when a ray of sunshine reaches them!

Till far into winter the island is covered with flowers such as: HYDRANGEA, MIMOSA, AGAPANTHES and seems to be a real kaleidoscope de couleurs!

The secret behind all these flowers flowering till almost midwinter is the WARM GULF STREAM!!

Of course you must "climb" the "mountain" SAINT-MICHEL to have a good view over this archipel and you can visit the fantastic water mill of BIRLOT that is during the hours that "LA GRANDE BLEUE" allows you to go there.......(low tide!)

There are 1200 places to park your car!

This is always a pleasant sight, seeing the fishermen come home safe and sound after hours and hours of fishing in all kinds of weather.

They carry the FRUITS-DE-MER we love eating and often risk their lives for our food....

Always good to see them return and enter the harbor......
