The Riu Bachata sports beach... this is the only place on any of the Bachata beach that you'll find souvenir stands. They are confined to about 60 feet of the beach and don't venture out to bother the guests. They are quite persistant though if you step into their territory!

Loads of fun watching this fellow do aerobics! So dainty on his toes, fluid in his wrists, and he flits around like a fairy!

On the road to Paradise Island, we stopped. I asked this beautiful young lady, who was hanging laundry out at the front of her home, if I could take her picture. She blushed the sweetest pink and said yes.

Snorkeling in the ocean reveals amazing shapes, colours and picturesque scenes. None of which rival the scenes one finds while snorkeling up to the swim-up bar of an all-inclusive resort!

During one of our forays into the DR countryside, we stopped at a restaurant and had lunch. The food was wonderful! A pig stopped by our table and looked up at us. A green lizard ran up the fence post. A dog came by and showed us his rib-cage. We did our best to cover it. As many tourists before us had tried, I'm sure. And failed.
After lunch I walked around a little. And came across this lady washing dishes. I asked her if I may take her picture. As I pressed the button, I think I saw a look in her eye that might have said, "How silly of you, Gringo. But if you want to take my picture, go ahead. Knock yourself out."

After lunch, at a Puerta Plata restaurant ... everyone was feeling full!
