USO Balkans Tour 2002 | The Poster that was never posted |
The USO puts on some neat morale building tours for the soldiers stationed here. I am fortunate enough that I get to meet a lot of the celebrities. It's really funny. I have lived in SoCal for 10 years and have to come 8000 miles to Bosnia to meet Hollywood Stars! |
| JT and Dennis Farina. Steak Lovers! |
| | JT and Dennis Farina I saw Dennis Farina in Palm Springs about a year ago. He was at Morton's Steakhouse having dinner with a bunch of Hollywood types. They were there for the Frank Sinatra Golf Tournament and we were there for the Tour de' Palm Springs. I told him that when I met him here. He remembered the evening. He talked to me for about 10 minutes. A nice man, nothing like the gangsters he plays so often. His wife was with him and she took my picture with an instamatic. She took down my address and told me that she was going to send me an 8x10 autographed photo. |
JT and James Avery James Avery overheard me talking to Dennis Farina and asked if I lived in Palm Springs. I told him no, that I was there for a bike ride. He laughed and said that he was never getting on a bike! I told him there were some great hikes in Palm Springs and he said the only hike he was doing was to the chow line. He was funny to all the people here. | | | Sgt. Brenner, Uncle Phil, and JT |

| Jt and Bill Brotchrup. Bosnian history buffs. |
| | JT and Bill Brotchrup Bill was the one that I spoke with the most. He was genuinely interested in what was going on in Bosnia. We talked a lot about the history here and the war 10 years ago. I explained just where in Indian Country we were and what would happen if the US forces left. The locals would start throwing rocks at each other tomorrow and would begin shooting at each other next week. He stated that there are a lot of Americans who don't even know that we have troops over here. I told him I was aware of that as many of my family and friends did not know it when I came over. All in all Bill was an interesting guy to talk to. My wife will be stoked because NYPD Blue is one of here favorite shows and Bill plays one of her favorite characters. |
Sherry Saum Sherry was mobbed by the soldiers. I didn't really know who she is as I don't watch any daytime TV. I don't think the soldiers did either but they did not care. She is a real looker and was friendly and nice to them all. They loved her! If I tried to hold a weapon like that I would be in the brig in about 10 minutes. | | | Sherrey Saum and a lucky GI |
