War Damaged Houses

No Man's Land

Mackovac
There is a no man's land zone between the Federation of Bosnia Hercegovina (Muslims and Croats) and Republika Srpska (Serbs). It is a buffer zone between the two political entities that were created by the Dayton peace Accords. It is heavily mined and is full of war damaged and destroyed houses. Maybe someday the people will return but for now it really is an unoccupied no man's land.
NE of Tuzla

Another family's dreams will have to wait

You cannot tell if the homes belonged to Muslims, Croats, or Serbs. It does not really matter to the family who has lost their home. Many of these people live in refugee centers.
East of Sarajevo

The houses have been ransacked

When the people eventually return they will only find shells. Everything of value including windows and wiring has been taken out by scavengers.
Barn outside of Tuzla

Even the animals suffered

This barn is located right outside of Tuzla. It took a hit during the shelling. According to one of the locals, it wiped out this farmers herd of cattle.
Zevinice

Not much left to come home to.

It is incredibly sad to see what hate has brought upon this place.
