Bosra

The Old Town in Bosra. This is the remains of an old Roman town built in black basalt.

Hama

There are 17 Norias (wooden water wheels) in Hama. They date from late Mamluk and Ottoman times. This Noria is the most central one.

This nice family invated me to have tea and watermelon (jabbas) with them in the Citadel area. On Fridays a lot of families go here to relax and have a pic-nic.

View over Hama from the Citadel area. All the green trees are growing by the Orontes River.

Aleppo

This man and boy are selling different kind of nuts. I bought half a kilo of peanuts for 50 SP. I like the cashew nuts better but they were quite expensive.

I went to the Hammam al-Maleki in Aleppo. This is the woman who was washing me.

On the road

On the road between Hama and Musyaf (or was it Musyaf and Krak de Chevalier) we drove past a lot of apple tree cultivations. I bought some apples from these boys.

Abtin

This boy is guarding a herd of sheep in the village Abtin.
