Paris The first time I was in Paris, the Opera House simply wasn't there (those were the pre-World-Cup days and the façade was all hidden). Imagine the disappointment... but lots of unpleasant surprises await us even today. St.-Eustache, Notre-Dame, the Tour St.-Jacques, the Grand Palais... don't expect to see the beauty of these Parisian landmarks in their integrity if you're going there now. |
