Great Cheap Buy We discovered a great souveniour tourist item for friends: A Matador or Flamenco Poster with your friends name on it. For $5 you cannot beat such a cute gift. Here is a man outside of the Prado (for where else whoudl you expect such great art?) make one. There are also several shops in Old Madrid that make them and possibly you could get one from spainsouveniers.com? |
Weather...or not?! Unfortunately, the weather in central Spain is rather unpredicable. I suggest you must make the best of the weather while you have it. We experienced a drop in temperature some 15 degrees F over day, causing some drop in my mood as well. Oh well, these things happen. Luckily there are many indoor activities and most places do not rush you along if you are only sipping your wine. The photo is of me at the Plaza de Isabell on a sunny day in December. |
Calling Home! It has never been easier to make a call from Spain to the US or anywhere else for that matter with pre-paid phone card sold at tobacco shops, magazine stands and yes -- 7-11's. They are very inexpensive and much prefered to the old slotted coins that go you as far as an operator speaking only the lacal language. These pay-phones also accept credit cards, what a deal! |
