The crest of the Sierra Nevada mountain range as viewed from either Lembert Dome or Sentinel Dome, I can't remember now. I'll have to look it up. Yosemite is located in the heart of the Sierra Nevadas. |
This picture is of the view across Tuolumne (pronounced to-ALL-um-nee) Meadows to the sierra crest in the east. Any hike in the high country of Yosemite is gorgeous! |
| West End of Yosemite Valley |
This view of the west end of Yosemite Valley isn't the best because of the sunlight, but I still think the view is amazing! Every view in Yosemite is amazing! The large rock about the center of the picture is El Capitan. |
This is, I think, my favorite picture that I have ever taken. I love it! I still feel that it would be perfect with a cowboy on horseback just off center of the picture though. That's the Upper Yosemite Falls in the background. |
This is one of the most famous pictures of Half Dome, taken from Sentinel Bridge in Yosemite Valley. If you do it just right, you can get a wonderful reflection in the Merced River. This shot can be found on countless postcards. |
Yosemite is a photographer's paradise! These people will wait hours for that one perfect shot. In fact, they think they own the place! No, kidding here. I was asked to move once because I was in the background of one of their shots, but they were nice about it. |
From most angles in the valley, Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls look like two totally separate waterfalls. In fact, the start of the Lower Yosemite Falls trail is about the only place in the valley that you can see that the Upper Falls lines up perfectly above the Lower Falls. At the same time, this spot at the Sentinel Bridge parking lot is about the only place in the valley where you can photograph both falls like this. |
| Half Dome and Little Yosemite Valley |
This picture from the top of Sentinel Dome shows Half Dome from the side and behind it the Little Yosemite Valley. Little Yosemite Valley is accessible only on foot and is often a camping spot for hikers on their way to Half Dome. |
