"Ted and Bob" by bugalugs

I hope those that read this travelogue wont mind that I am for the moment dedicating it to our dog Ted who died in May 2004

So many people on vt have made such lovely comments about Ted. Some are vt friends but also people I dont know have visited my homepage and remarked how lovely he is.

He certainly was.

Ted was a golden retriever, he also had epilepsy. In March 2004 our own vet said he would refer Ted to a specialist neurologist. Thats when Ted started to deteriorate. The new medication and such high dosages left him virtually unable to walk, kept falling over and when he fitted they were even worse. Six weeks into his new medication he took really ill, we had to return him to the specialist and he died the following day. I blame the specialist. In fact over the following 12 months, having complained to the Royal Society of Veterinary Surgeons, he was interviewed at his premises and also he had to visit their head office in London. Their findings were not as I had hoped, we were told he had an 'attitude' problem. His file would be kept open for 2 years in case others complained. I really hope that never happens, because that would mean someone else had suffered at his hands. Ted is buried in our back garden along with our previous golden retriever Ben who died in 1986 at the age of 13. I know Ben will be looking after our Ted.

In July 2004 Wayne bought me Bob the bunny as a pet. He was originally outside in a hutch, but came in the house in the evenings when we were home from work. However when we had building work started in October 2004 Wayne decided the brick dust was too much for him, and so he bought him an indoor cage for him to be 'temporary' in the house. Its now 2006 and he is still inside!!! It is probably not feasible for him to go outside now, having been a house rabbit for so long.

These bins contain Bobs hay and straw but he decided when I was cleaning out his cage to investigate! He is such a nosey rabbit.
