The view from the bridge | Pedestrian Dnipro bridge to Trukhaniv Island |
Among the eight bridges across the Dnipro this one connects St.Volodymyr Descent behind the Philharminic Society with Trukhaniv Island, a recreation area of the city. This pedestrian bridge will take you directly to the city beach. The Dnipro looks great and very broad and rather deep. There is a river station from where you could sail down to the Black Sea.
|
| | Another view from the bridge You can see several island on the Dnipro, the biggest of them is Trukhanov Island. The islands are famous for their beaches and forests.
|
The Great River The Dnipro is the third largest river in Europe... It impressed you by its clear water, islands and banks. The left bank is flat and the right one is rather steep, the fall being about 100 meters (328 feet).

| | From St.Volodymyr Hill This picture was taken when we came to St.Volodymyr Hill to enjoy the wonderful views of the river from above.
|
Another View Another view of Lower Kiev (Podil in UKrainian).

| A view from the Cave Monastery |
| | A View from the Cave Monastery The Cave Monastery is called Kiev Pechersk Lavra in Russian and Ukrainian. "Laura" is an honorary title given to the most outstanding monasteries in Russia.
|
A View Across the Dnipro This is one of the early morning views of the left bank of the Dnipro. That bank is quite flat unlike the right one. You can see lots of new districts there. You can get there quite fast by the underground railway.

| Sliding down the river hill |
| | WinterFun Be careful sliding down the Dnipro hills in winter for you may slide so far that you bathe in the river :-) It's really an attraction for those who are young at heart. Have fun!
