Mt Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado l |
My adopted home town
Nestled at 10,200 ft in the central Colorado Rockies, Leadville is the highest incorporated town in the United States. My wife, two daughters and I moved to Leadville in 1979 and soon found it to be more "home" than the town we grew up in. Friendly people, beautiful scenery and many, many outdoor activities brought us closer to the happiness that we sought than anywhere before. I worked in construction, my wife in real estate and the two girls went to school in one of the best systems we have ever found. We soon had a number of close friends and enjoyed being in the local theatre company. I also worked part time at the local radio station. We return to Leadville as often as we can.
