Kodiak Bears

The 3 Bears

Kodiak Bears are fun to watch from a distance. I have seen a Sow try to attack a Bald Eagle that was attempting to steal a salmon that she had just caught. Kodiak is great place for Bear viewing but for the best stuff you must fly out to remote areas.
Sorry about the quality of these photos they are copies of pictures that I have taken but my scanner does'nt copy photos real well.

Karluk River Bears

Bear Warning!!

If you see these signs around.....the big hairy guys could be close by!! Make plenty of noise and keep a clean camp!

Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge

The Headquarters of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge is a pretty cool place. There are some animal displays and a video room where you can watch free videos about Kodiak Wildlife. They can answer all of your questions too. A great place to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day!

Hi Scott, you certainly do live in a fascinating part of the world. Anne and I will hopefully get to Alaska next year.
