There are many small trails and roads all over Kodiak. There trails that only take a few minutes to several days to walk. There are many hikes sponsored by the local chapter of the Audobon Society.
Fish Counting Weir on Buskin River

Buskin river

Even if you don't like to fish you can enjoy hikes along the Buskin River. There was a small Kodiak Bear seen on near this Fish Weir last night. (8/14/02) So you better have your camera ready!

Start of the hike

This is the start of the hike at the end of the road on the Anton Larsen Bay Road. Just drive to the end of the road and look on your left you will see this trail that starts right beside the stream. It is a beautiful Hike!!

Hi Scott, you certainly do live in a fascinating part of the world. Anne and I will hopefully get to Alaska next year.
