Canyon De Chelly in the evening |
Canyon Cows There are cows in the canyon. Yes, it's their home. There is a little farming iside the canyon as well. This is part of the Navajo Nation, so Navajos try to farm here. It seemed very dry, but there are floods in the canyon.... |
More Pics.... Canyon De Chelly's sandy base has pieces of Native American clay (pottery shards). |
There was a Native American story/symbolism to this formation, but unfortunately I forgot it. |

AlbuqRay Sun May 13, 2007 17:44 UTC Thanks for the info on Canyon de Chelly, Nicky. I am wondering if any Navajo tribal member can guide you. I have several friends who are Navajo. Are you sure the last pic in the first travelogue is not Mesa Verde? |
