River Channel

In Autumn and winter there is an assortment of geese and ducks, wrens and sparrows as well as other less vocal residents like Anhingas, ibises, Wood Storks, egrets, herons, Wood Ducks, Mississippi Kites, Sharp-shinned and Cooper’s Hawks, and in winter, Bald Eagles.

Oxbow

An apparently rare pink hibiscus which grows here. You will see more of the white, more common variety.

Government Ditch

Uncertain is not only the area around this part of the lake but is also what the boat trips are, as they sometimes must be suspended because of low water in the lake.

Turtle Shell

Recreational boating is done at the eastern end where the dam is and around Uncertain.

I can see you did your research on the birds of the area. I'd love to hike through the swamps looking for birds and whatever else I could find.

what a terrible idea to drill oil in such a ecological wonder! Your pictures are fabulous, Keewee! I've never seen nature like this before! Are you also gonna build a page on Uncertain :-)?
