REAL NAME: Karina
Well, I met Karina when I was... BORN! That's right, for those who didn't know it I am her cousin. When she lived in Salvador (the gal is in Spain now!) we used to go out and have the funniest nights together with a bunch of friends. From truckdrivers' spots to fancy pubs, nothing was ever a problem to us. Not even when her boyfriend at the time had the wonderful idea of being the ONLY person on an orange t-shirt on a Brazil x Netherlands footbal match.
She is very very very funny, a SWEET soul and a BABE!

REAL NAME: EDITH
Edith came by to Salvador not long ago and we met at Cantina da Lua, in Pelourinho, a great outdoor pub in the heart of the historical center. We sat and talked for - no kidding - 4 hours non-stop, about everything in general: men, women, prejudice, skin color, sexual tourism, bla bla bla. Suddenly a couple of guys sitting on the table next to us starts flirting with us and that's when I started pretending I was dutch too! Hahahaha, that was SO fun! We had a great laugh. She talked to me in dutch and I replied in "marinuch"!
She gave me a very strong typical licquor in a bottle in the shape of a house and I was very very thankful to her for the thought. The next day I got home to lunch and decided to try the licquor. "Sweet", I thought", "and smooth and weak". So I ket of drinking and watching tv, slowly, calmly, from the bottle...
next thing I know I woke up and it was 9 pm.

note to self: never ever mock other poeple's licquor or pepper.

REAL NAME: ROBERT
Robert speaks portuguese and he had contacted me in VT before he came, so when she showed up we sort of "knew" eachoter already. We went out a lot of times, and met a lot of times too. I just pitty when he came I was in a very bad phase, in a very pain-in-the-ass relationship so most of times I was in a terrible mood - poor Robert!
Things we did:
Most times we met at Pizzaria Dolce Vita, whose owner is a big friend of mine and where I can be found 4 out of 7 nights of my week.
Once we went to the Mistura e Manda concert, at the Teatro Vila Velha. It's a musical group that plays Chorinho, the brazilian version of jazz. (Every thursday, for free).
Sweet Robert gave me a norwegian flag that now stands in my bedroom, just beside the alarmclock.

REAL NAME: Oyvind
I recently met Oyvind. We had a cup of coffee at a cafe near the National Theatre of Oslo. He's a dear sweet, I loved to meet him! Great fun, laughters garanteed! Sweet and kind and with a great humor, as most of the norwegians I've met so far.

REAL NAME: Francois Vincent
I actually met Fran two years before I joined VT. Actually, I met his sister first, Madeleine, in a chatroom and we became close friends. They were my hosts in Minas Gerais (1999) and the result is I am completely in love with him, her and their family and cat! Now, five years later, a steady and sure friendship binding us, his sister getting married (!!!!!!!!) ... my next step is to try to convince him to update his VT pages! hehehe...

REAL NAME: Edith Au
I met Edith this year, when she came to Salvador. She stayed on the inn I recommended, met my best friend, and I took her to some of my favourite places. We had a great time, that I can assure. She's a sweet person and won't give the host/guide no trouble. She fell in love with one of the typical candies in my region - pacoca.

REAL NAME: Cristina Madrid
I met Morg the same year I met Franxico. We've been excellent friends ever since, to a point that my family befriended her family, we have worked together (let's not count all the times we got drunk together!). When I'm in Salvador, it's a normal thing to give or receive a kidnapping call that often involves coffee and movies. We're totally home with eachother - I took her younger daughter to have her second tatoo made, she (Morg) worked with my cousin, her husband worked with my father, I befriended her nephew and his wife... this world is a tiny brothel! LOL I love you, brujita!
