"SOME PICTURES THAT PICASSO PAINTED IN GÓSOL (1906)" Gósol Travelogue by genispp

Gósol Travel Guide: 28 reviews and 72 photos

Gosol's emblematic cultural symbol is the Picasso Museum, which owes its existence to the visit of the great painter Pablo Ruíz Picasso to the village in the spring of the year 1906 and which lasted until the first half of August. The artist installed himself at the only inn which then existed, Cal Tampanada, at that time the property of Josep Fontdevila. In Gósol, Picasso underwent a transformation and during this period changed his palette, his sketching style and his rhythm of composition. His models were Fernande Olivier (his partner at the time), the village, the people of the area, the cows and the horses
