The Rouvas gorge is located in the Idi Mountains of central Crete. By contrast with the Samaria Gorge and it's hordes of hikers and daytrippers marching, hiking, stumbling and sweating through, the Rouvas Gorge is incredibly serene and quiet. We only met five other walkers. Like Samaria Gorge it is a great place to watch Griffon Vultures .. bring a pair of binoculars though. |
