Meetings My list of meetings grew so big it is no longer easy to keep it updated as it used to be. So I will slowly reorganise things.
Recent occupations are to find in the "What kept me busy tlogues and older meetings are to be find through the link to the travelogue at the locations held.
There you will find an entry on any meeting with a link to the Fotki albums.
It is great to meet!

VT-members I have met (223 ) 2 april 2006 This is a list of members I have met so far. I am sure I have missed a few. Don't be mad or sad, just send me a message and I correct this mistake immediatly :)

Non VT-ers visiting:
1999:Tim, Ky USA, moved to Portland, interests: language technology speech and member of the Kentucky Hennep Beer guild. Via e-mail. I think he put me in the idea of Servas and of having people in the house! He was my first adult visitor experience and happened to be such a good one, I decided that in the future I would put my house open to friends and accidental travelers.
We went cycling to the Westmalle brewery and had a few trappist after our visit. Hard to cycle back those 2,5 hours! We also went to Antwerp and to the local pub.
1999;2002:Jan, Czechie, Prague, runs an import business, I met through ICQ and we visited him in April 2002. It was nice after meeting him twice in Antwerp, be able to meet up with him in Prague!
2000:David, Israel, runs a family business of photographic equipment, ICQ. We visited Antwerp.
2000-2001:Dr. Kiatikorum, doctor in Thailand (will become father in 2002!) and his wife (also a doctor) Marissa, who runs a hospital in Thailand. I met them through ICQ and I met his colleagues when they were at Antwerp on a special training of general medical practice.
We explored Antwerp, I took him and some colleagues to the opera and we went iceskating with the Karibu group. I had him and 3 colleagues invited for dinner and they brought some home made Thai food (mmmm the prawn soup was tasty!).
2000:Faroukh, works at the Toronto airport and we met by accident on the train from Amsterdam to Brussels. Lovely friend. We went to Antwerp and I took him on a Karibu trip to Mechelen.
2000:Jacob, Indian living in Koeweit, car selling industry in Koeweit, by ICQ. Not sure if he would come but let my enthousiasm pulled him over his doubts to visit Antwerp. And he told me he was happy I "secuded" him to come.
2001:Maciej and Piotr, Poznan, Poland, both students at the time we met, Piotr is working and Maciej is going for his Phd degree. I met Maciej in Virtual Places, travel room. Two wonderful nice guys! I do hope I get the chance to meet again and visit them in Poznan! We went to Antwerp few times, to neighbour communities like Edegem and Wilrijk. We also went to Bruges and to Ghent. They went on their own to Brussels and Leuven.
2003 July, unexpectedly was asked to take out some guests of Saint Petersburg. It was Prof. M. Fedorov and his lovely wife Irina. I hope they manage to stay longer on a next visit.

2002: Evelyn Coleman, (evelytalylor on VT for the moment) Black American author of crime mysteries and child's literature. One of her books is filmed.Atlanta, she found me through Google. She was around because she won an award by the King Boudewijn Organisation. Convinced her to travel to Antwerp and we went to visit Ehi in Wiltz. He stayed from 22nd till 26 Febr and from 2nd March till 4th of March he came back with his friend Karel (Hopdog).We went to Antwerp, Herbeumont, Orval, Bruges and visited many breweries! We went to meet up with some VT friends in Belgium and made quite some trips. As he met so many VT friends (11 in total) I have added some days of his visit at the meetings section too. 2003 27th December till 2004, 1st of January, Jeff & Mariangela (sargentjeff and sapere) came over for a re-visit. We went to Utrecht, Brussels, Bruges (see meetings) and Antwerp for New Year's eve celebration. It was fun! 7-9th February 2004 Suri from Mumbai visited and we had such 3 great days going to Antwerp; Bruges and Leuven and meet up with our fellow VT-friends. Have a look at the Antwerp pictures; the Bruges ones and the ones from Leuven! 22nd February I met Ian (Houso44) from Australia for a wonderful afternoon in Bruges. I hope he will manage to come again over (a) Summertime! The pics!

2003, August, Tom & Gonnie (Tompt)(Netherlands) came to visit us for a weekend, they camped in the garden. We visited Lier, Dendermonde, Antwerp and Lier. Have a look at the fotki album!2003: 9 September and some more days, Babu (Chille on VT), Bangelore, Vishnu's colleague came over a couple of times to dinner, for a drink and for buying a huge amount of fresh chocolots to take home for family and friends. 19-26 March 2004 Brewdog Leroy form Houston, Tex. came along to taste some more of our famous beers. Here you can find the pictures!
30 March, Sia (from Iran) visited Antwerp for a few hours for a drink at noon. He studied here 16 years ago at the Zeevaartschool (seaman's school) and was bringing his new containership (he is the captain) to Antwerp.
3rd April I met up with "Ansar (trupakistani) for an evening walk discovering Antwerp.
4th April I met up with Sunita (jackfruit) from Mangelore, living in Boston, US and a friend of VT friend Bunmi: Yanki, Nigerian but living long time in Brussels.Pictures we took
6th April Diamonddog and me went out for an evening with Sunita again. We both hope she can come again in Summer. Pictures we took. |

weekend of 11th May visiting Tom and Gonnie (Tompt) at Noordeinde, Netherlands. We went canoeing at the Nieuwkoopse Plassen and visited some wind mills. It was a wonderful visit! I have to add those pics on my fotki album still!

22nd of November 2003: extra muros meeting with a visit to the Puppet show in Antwerp and a drink afterwards. Thanks to a colleague for the idea! It was great fun, will do it again!

30 December 2003: a unexpected meeting in Bruges with Sargentjeff; Sapere; Sabsi & Bea; B_caro; Diamonddog; Sinjoor & kids; Mahieu; Imaniac and me. We went to see the ice sculptures, do some walking and some beer tasting :-).
