Free museums on weekends

There are a few museums with free entrance on weekends:
- Prado: free on sunday mornings.
- Reina Sofia: free on saturday afternoon and sunday mornings
- Archeological: free on satruday afternoons and sunday mornings.

National Film Centre

At the Cine Dore you can see classic national and international movies in original version&b with spanish subtitles for as low as 1,30 euros.
Go early (after lunch) for the tickets, they use to "fly"!
c/Santa Isabel, 12. Metro Anton Martin (near calle Atocha)

Reading Hall at the FNAC

At the FNAC shop (c/ Preciados, near Callao) there is a hall in the 3rd floor where you can seat and read books. It was originally set for listening music (in fact there are different auditions of classical music going on all the time), but people actually use it to take a look at books they wanna buy.

I use to go there when I have a spare afternoon (rarely), take a book I like from the shelf and sit down to read it THERE, returning it to the shelf when I finish. Anyway, I try not to damage the book or the pages while reading... ;-))

Altamira Caves

At the Archeological Museum there is a reproduction of the original Altamira caves (located in Santander) with %prehistoric paintings on the ceiling. It is outside the museum, at the left before you enter.
Is free entrance (at least on weekends).
