Time for fun in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

by the_dutchman - last update: Jan 27, 2004

Puerto Vallarta,

Unbelievable Sunsets
Beautifull sunsets is what Mexico seems to have enough of. For the fourh year in a row we have gone to Puerto Vallarta to get away from the cold weather in Canada. It's a great thing that the government or hotel consortiums can't charge for these sunsets or none of us would be able to affort to go there anymore.Speaking of hotels, there is one that you should be aware of. It's called "CROWN PARADISE" We spend christmas 2003 here and it was a real disappoinment. It has now been a month since we wrote the hotel management (Senior Ignacio Jauregui)about our concerns and treatment that we received at his hotel. It is also with this hotel that Air Transat has a contract to book their clients. We had spoken to them personally in Mexico to no avail, so I promised them that It would be printed on this site. Arrival at 7 am, but your room will not be ready till 3 pm, there goes your first day of the all inclusive. Towels within your room are not avilable between the hours of 8-9 am and 6-8 pm. Evidently they are being cleaned. Snack bars at beach & pool close at 5 pm . Ext hot tub contaminated with a ring of algae. Bookings for dining room must be done for same day booking only at the beach within the first 1/2 hr or all reservations are full. This is at a 4 1/2 * hotel resort. I advise anyone going to Puerto Vallarta not to book with the "CROWN PARADISE RESORT" as they do not care about their clientel, since most people leave in 7 days. Air transat leaving their passengers at a hotel at seven in the morning and then leaving them there with the "care for yourself because we don't care attitude.
The streets seem to continue up the hills.
Blue skies and palms, what more could a person asked for.
Along the beach in the old town of Puerto Vallarta.
On Palm Sunday the beaches become crowded with sun worshippers.
Time for a stroll
Another view point with another statue.
Typical Mexican scene, with the cathedral spire in the background.
Ready to go for a cruise at the Mexican Riviera, but not us.
These cruise ships are becoming very Majestic.
One wonders how they can stay afloat.
Some cruiseships are now cities on their own, carrying up to 3000 passengers.
Coast line of Puerto Vallarta.

" The Mary Gallante"

The Mary Gallante once sailed around the world, retracing the steps of Christopher Columbus. This ship, is now used as a tourist attraction.
Oke you swabs, lets raise those sails.
I'll cut your head off if you don't do as you're told.
Move just once more and I'll run this sabre right through your yellow belly.
Ahoy you matey's listen to what I've got to say.
Who is that rat climbing up those lines.?
The Mary Gallante waiting for it's day passengers in deeper water.
It is a fine looking ship, but too small to cross an ocean in for my liking.
Just turning around the stern to make our way to the gang plank.
Close your eyes and go back in history a couple of 100 yrs ago, what a life it must have been.
We too wuold like to get back to the ship, come and get us.
I hope you've enjoyed looking at this page as much as I have had fun putting this page together. Mexico is a wonderful country to visit. Our next trip is now being put together in our minds. Thanks again for taking the time to look. Gerry, The Dutchman.
