Welcome to the fabulous Chinese Garden... This is the Main Entrance and Hall of Clear Shade and don't look at the visitor, it's the statue that's the cute one ;-) |
| | Dragon Wall... The Dragon Wall is a magnificent gift from Guangdong. It features two coloured dragons - the gold representing "Guangdong" and the blue "New South Wales". The pearl between symbolising the bond between the two. |
The Emperor... I hadn't noticed before, but when I was here I realised that in my former life I was an Emperor ;-)
| | Waterfall... The waterfall provides a fantastic backdrop to the other features of the garden. |
Look around... The garden is so tranquil, despite the closeness of the City, seen in the background, of the following photos.
The Gurr... The Gurr is the Pavilion of Clear View. It is an imposing hexagonal building, its roof covered with golden tiles. It sits at the top of the garden, with great views of both the Garden and the city beyond.
| | More pics of the Emperor... The Emperor, on the bridge with the water fall as the back drop ;-) |
This is an excellent place to take a break from the hectic pace of the City or Darling Harbour. Just stroll around, dress in traditional Chinese costume or sip Chinese tea in the tea room overlooking the garden.
