"THE ROAD TO MOAB." Utah Travelogue by dutch_anna

When you enter Utah, coming from Colorado and especially when you are on Rte 191 between Monticello and Moab, it is like arriving on an other planet. Never before I had seen such a change in a landscape. Along the road stand, first a few, later more, very strange rocks. Red and yellow sandstone with all kind of forms.

Church Rock.

Wilson Arch.

Explanation of the name Wilson Arch

Moab.

Of course Moab is a town for tourists, but did you expect it was not, with the National Parks Arches and Canyonlands so nearby? We camped on a very nice campground, just outside the town. Red rocks and below, the Colorado river.
